Jim currently has a 50% appointment as an internal consultant in the Office of Quality Improvement at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  In this role he provides consulting and advisory services to campus leaders in the areas of strategic planning, team development, organization development, and strategic culture change.  Prior to this assignment, he was Director of Marketing and Communications for the Division of Continuing Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  In this role he managed and supported a staff of 15 individuals providing comprehensive marketing services.

As a 20+ year consultant and adviser, Jim also works with a variety of private and public organizations providing guidance and expertise in these areas:  strategic planning, strategic culture change, leadership/management development, and creating enduring and inclusive work cultures.  His clients have included Alliant Energy, American Family Insurance, General Casualty Insurance, Johnson Controls, M&I Data, Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, and Pepsi-Cola of Madison. As a past adjunct consultant with Kaleel Jamison Consulting Group he has helped implement diversity and inclusion initiatives in Burger King, DuPont, Freddie Mac, Hartford Insurance Group, Kodak, Kimberly-Clark Mobil Films, Mobil Oil, Norwest Bank, United Airlines, and Toyota.

As a student of culture, Jim has traveled extensively around the world, visiting these countries:  Australia, Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, England, Ecuador, France, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Martinique, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama, Puerto Rico, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, Tanzania, and the Virgin Islands (US).
